Ron Snaza Ron started the Rookies in 1978 while working at an Eastside St. Paul Recreation Center. The teams, in the early years were made up of primarily Eastside kids from St. Paul. Snaza has worked for the St. Paul Division of Parks and Recreation for 35 years, beginning as a Recreation Leader and then as a Recreation Center Director. He presently works at Phalen Recreation Center. He has been the Head Softball Coach at Hill-Murray High School since 1988. He has played on several Men's Fastpitch teams in the St. Paul area. He is considered by many to have one of the best stategic minds in the sport. In addition to softball he has coached several other sports. His teams are always known to be prepared and well grounded in fundamentals. Ron is married to Janet and has two step children.
Vic Wittgenstien Vic is retired from the St. Paul Division of Parks and Recreation where is worked in several capacities for close to 40 years. He ended his career after serving as the Division's Superintendent for four years. He has coached girls fastpitch softball for 23 years. He organized and ran the Pro's and Cons, later named Harding Area program, for about 15 years before joining Snaza and the Rookies. In addition to his coaching duties t Vic is responsible for most of the teams organizational needs as well as being the Tournament Director for the Annual Rookies/Harding Area Tournment. Vic, has returned to work and is presently employed by the City of St. Paul Public Schools as a tutor. He is also an assistant softball coach at the City's Arlington High School. He and his wife Suzanne have six grown children, four of whom played for the Rookies.
Melissa Wittgenstien A former Rookie player herself, Melissa joined the Rookies staff in 2005. She is a graduate of Harding High School, where she was All Conference for three years and earned All State Recognition as a Senior. She played for Northern State University for four years and holds the record for the schools lowest E.R.A. for a season as well as other pitching records. While at Northern she earned All Conference recognition and Academic All Conference honors. Melissa works primarily with the Rookies'pitchers and catchers. In addition she is the go to person for the players on the team, as she helps them address both issues inside and outside of Softball. Melissa teaches Mathamatics, does all the academic scheduling and is the Head Softball Coach at Arlington High School. She recently completed work on a Masters in Athletic Administration.

Brian Larson Brian has been with the Rookies for the past two years. Prior to that, he spent several years working with the youth fastpitch program in North St. Paul. Brian works primarily with the outfielders and on hitting with the Rookies. He is employed by the Pioneer Press Newspaper as a Circulation Supervisor. He and his wife Marsha have two grown daughters. The youngest, Nicole, presently plays softball for North Dakota University.
